Captain Tom is an Old Merrythought bear dating to the 1930s .
He measures 15" in height and is stuffed with kapok to his body and limbs with a mixture of woodwool and kapok to his head and tummy.
Poor Old Captain Tom also lost his sight many battlefields ago and was kindly given wooden boot buttons for eyes at the time we are given to understand so he has just a little eyesight !
This old veteran is a five- way jointed old bear and all his joints turn but are a little bit stiff too with old bear rheumatics all a result from being in the cold wet trenches when he was a soldier .
He has a light covering all over of his age darkened mohair and his paw pads are all covered in their original cloth material without any holes but showing signs of age wear and discolouration.
Once upon a time Captain Tom Bear used to squeak when his tummy was gently squeezed but these days he is a very quite old bear .
Captain Tom soon went up the ranks and was made a Captain for his bravery and great leadership in the War and was awarded a medal from the King and Queen which he proudly wears pinned to his chest.
He also has two enamelled school badges with the letters C and T for Captain Tom which his old school awarded him with on his return home too.
Captain Tom is now looking for an Old Soldiers retirement home on this Special VE day 75 years anniversary and should you have a place for him and in your heart too he comes dressed as you see him and he will also bring along with him a tiny silk Union Jack flag and one of thee WW2 Spitfire planes you can see above him too.

A hat is a Must for Lady Acott and the bigger and more dramatic the better as she really likes to get noticed and with Spring just around the corner she has decided she needs a new Spring hat for the parties and of course the racing Season and so has popped to see her favourite Hatter and try on a few.
Lady Ascott is a Grand looking 1930s Chiltern bear measuring 22" in height and is a beautiful bright golden coloured mohair bear .
She has a pretty fair covering left all over of her golden mohair with general light thinning and some little bare patches in parts which are really just to be seen to the front of her, around her forehead and near to her eyes, the fronts of her legs and the tips of her paws.
There is a little bareness and thinning around the middle of her left arm where also the wood wool stuffing inside has slightly shifted making it a little saggy this is all due to being being picked up and carried by her arm many bear years ago when she was loved Once upon a time!
Her clear glass eyes are later replacements and suit her very well I have to say.
She has her original nose and mouth stitching but she has had her little right upper top stitch kissed away but this is not detrimental or noticeable really.
Lady Ascott has retained nearly all of black claw stitches to her paws and feet and has just lost one on her right paw which is not worrying .
She has a tilt growler inside her which tends to make more of a clunking sound these days when she is gently tilted bless her !
Both paw pads and foot pads have been neatly recovered in felt for her at some time in her life too.
As you would expect Lady Acott is dressed in a very nice 1930s dress, and pinned to it is favourite pretty vintage Lucky Horseshoe brooch which should you send her invite to come to yours she will come wearing and of course her Spring hat that she has just chosen at the Hatters today too for the occasion with you!
