Sadly many of his comrades didn't survive and not a day goes by when he doesn't think of them all but on November 11th it is even more poignant for him as he stands to attention and salutes them all with his poorly right paw in honour of all the fallen bears .
Sgt Enfield here who has the same name as the rifles that were used in World War one is a wonderful Old character bear dating to the World War period 1914-1918.
He measures approximately 19" in height and even after all his War injuries he still looks very upright -Bless him!
He is a five-way jointed old fellow but due to being wounded and shot in both arms near to the shoulders and receiving several stitches in The Red cross tent by the very kind nurses there who saved his arms but couldn't really do much more than that they sadly do not turn and move like they Once did before he went to War!
Sgt Enfield still growls when he is gently tipped which is rather amazing for an Old bear that has been through so much in the Great War!
However His legs have better move-ability and he is still able to walk which again is quite amazing as his lower right leg was hit by flying shrapnel and he bears the scars and stitches there too. ❤
His right arm is a little saggy near the top where the wood wool has shifted slightly probably all due to being carried off the battlefield to the Red Cross tent!
He has a fair covering of light golden mohair left on his head and left arm but he has only a very light dusting on his right arm , body and legs but we can always a forgive an Old Soldier for this especially after being in the Wars.
Sgt Enfield was also shot in the upper chest narrowly missing his bear heart and he was patched up again in the field hospital along with his paw and feet bless him that were all done many years ago .
He lost his eyes in a terrible battle too and was given WW1 wooden shoe button eyes .
On returning home to recover from his injuries he received his Bravery Award from the King which he proudly wears on his chest along with his Red Cross Nurses medallion !
Around his neck are fragments of a Patriotic flag from WW1 and he wears his old Army vest too as he cant bear to be parted from it and in his paws he clutches his Causality of War tag that he was given to him at the Field Hospital and he brings this along with him too. (A Once upon a time bears adapted replica tag of the Casualty of War tags given to the injured in the War)
Sgt Enfield is looking for a Home for retired Soldiers now and it would be wonderful if there were some other old bears there too to remissness with ...........perhaps you know of a Good home for him ? ❤

Another causality of war I am afraid but what a very brave Old bear he is !
He has been in the Chiltern Convalescent home for Blind Old soldiers for a while now due to loosing his eye sight one terrible day on the battlefield but he has learned to cope with living in total darkness all thanks to the kind Nursing staff there who gave him Old buttons for eyes.
Sgt Sherman is named after the WW2 tanks that were them when they were in battle.
This lovely old boy is a Chiltern bear and he is a five-way jointed old bear. Sadly though due to his War injuries and operations his joints are a little stiff and don't turn very well and his left leg was stitched back on at the top after being hit by shrapnel and so he has no feeling in it bless him and he needs help when getting up and walking.
Sgt Sherman has rather had the stuffing knocked out of him a bit while fighting in the War and he is rather slumpy these days in his posture
but this is to be rather expected when you have been serving for King and Country!❤
His head is full of woodwool and War time memories some Good an some not so good . The Good ones are of his comrades that were his best bear pas and the the not so good memories are of the Fallen!
Sgt Sherman has had a few stitches from his War experiences some are on his back seam and left leg but all neatly done .
His left arm is in a sling for support as he has no feeling in it as the stuffing was knocked out of it at the top when he was shot and he has a head bandage too following surgery on his eyes bless him.
Sgt Chiltern is looking for a Loving retirement home too now as he cannot stay forever at the Chiltern Convalescent home for old bears as they need his bed for another old soldier that needs nursing back to health.
Should you be able to help him that would be truly wonderful. He comes wearing his antique french cotton vest . fragment of a Patriotic flag around his neck and pinned proudly to his chest his Bravery award medal from the king and his patriotic British 'Union Jack' flag medallion and not forgetting to his very own Casuality of War tag a replica of the original ones in WW2 adapted for our Special Wounded Old bears at Once upon a time bears.❤

However the next day when all the other bear ghosts and bear witches are putting away their costumes carefully for another year little Pumpkin bravely and proudly will put his favourite Halloween outfit on which isn't really too scary its what his Granny knitted for him in Halloween colours and is terribly soft !
He does love his little Pumpkin pin that his Mother gave him when he was born and his little glittery pumpkin toy too which should you be able to offer him a frightfully Good loving home he will bring along with him of course !
Pumpkin is a very soft old Chiltern bear and he dates to C1950 he measures a cuddlesome 17" in height ,
He is stuffed with kapok to his body and limbs making him a truly lovely cuddle and wood wool to his head. 🎃
He has perfect eyesight as he has his original amber and black glass eyes and he believes also that's because of Granny's home-made carrot and Pumpkin soup because from being a little bear she has always told him to ' Eat it all up and you will never need glasses !'
Pumpkin has a fairly good coverage of blonde mohair left on his body these days with some light general thinning and loss in places with most of the thinning being really to his tummy area and most probably a result from gentle tender hugs and squeezes he once received.
He has rexine type material paws which show some signs of surface rubbing but have no holes in any of them.
Pumpkin has retained all his black claw stitches to all of his paws also and his nose and mouth stitching is all original to him and in perfect stitched order.
Pumpkin is looking for a Loving home and is a little scared he wont find one but we have assured him that he is such a cute little Pumpkin we are pretty sure that he will ..........dont you agree? 🎃
REF B1232 💗SORRY I HAVE BEEN ADOPTED
She is as sweet and fluffy as a handful of pink and white marshmallows with the sweetest nature too.
Baby Cotton Bud will happily play with the toys in the nursery and her favorites are the pink pull a long wooden pig and the porcelain dolly in the crib with the pink dress but really needs some other little bear cubs to play with now and of course to be loved and cared for.
This adorably sweet baby Chad Valley bear dates to C1950 and she measures just 10 1/2" of fluffiness and cuteness!
Baby Cotton Bud is a five-way jointed little bear and all her joints turn and move well for her which is rather a good thing for a baby bear when she is crawling on the floor and playing with her toys! 🌺
She has a fair covering of blonde coloured mohair to most of her body but does show some losses and the most bareness on her left leg but this is kept a secret and rather hidden under her knitted white baby pants decorated with a pink safety pin with a letter C charm dangling from it for her cute name of Cotton Bud!
She has small amber plastic eyes which are original to her and she has retained perfectly her original black stitched nose and mouth stitching.
Her paws are all covered in their original brown velvet and are in good order and she has kept most of her original black claw stitches with just a couple to her right foot over the passing years but this is not detrimental to her.
Baby Cotton Bud comes prettily dressed in her newly knitted Baby pink sparkly cardigan and little white ants of course too !
Pinned to her cardigan is a little bunny charm and around her neck a pretty ribbon an a tiny tinkling pale blue bell so you will hear her where ever she is!
She comes with her little tiny wooden baby pink mushroom that we gave her to hold and she hasn't put it down so how could we take it off her?
We hope that this little cutie is pulling on your heart strings too as we think she is a little poppet ! 🌺
