BEGONIA -A C1940/1950's CHILTERN BEAR
I think you can already guess that her favourite colours are cerise pink and purple and her favourite flowers are begonias and fuchsias especially if they match the colour of her dress and ribbons and if she were to have a middle name it would most certainly be Fuchsia but Begonia Fuchsia is a bit of a mouthful even for a bear !
Begonia measures a nice bear size of 15" in height.
She has just a light dusting of a few tufts of blonde mohair left on her body these days but we can forgive a little Old bear for this in the knowledge that Once upon a time they were very much loved and hugged .
Poor Begonia she was once blind too and could no longer see the colours of her favourite flowers so someone very kindly gave her replacement glass eyes so she could see again and they do seem to suit her very well.
Begonia has kept most of her original nose and mouth stitching with perhaps just a few thin threads lost on her nose but nothing really noticeable.
Her previous owner has also very lovingly recovered her two paw pads very neatly for her in brown felt to match the colour of her cotton foot pads.
Her brown cotton material foot pads were once rexine coated and have lost most of their coating over the years and she has had a couple of neat tiny stitches added to the edge in parts on her right foot pad.
Begonia is a five way jointed little bear and all her joints turn for her and her bareness and modesty is covered up and hidden with her pretty vintage knitted dress .
Begonia comes to you in her pretty vintage pink dress and carrying of course her little pink Easter egg and we might just have to count up those pink chocolate Easter eggs too that she happily sat amongst just incase any should be missing !!

ODD BODD - A 1950S POOR OLD BEAR
Odd Bodd has also very distinguished looking paw pads too recovered for him at some time in his bear life and very neatly in stripey material which almost match his colourful knitted outfit which he came to us wearing also !
Poor old Odd Bodd he is often a very misunderstood kind of bear too and because in some bears eyes he is perhaps not looking quite how other bears generally look he is often ignored or made fun off which for a bear or anyone of that matter is very upsetting !
Odd Bodd might look different but underneath lies a very loving , kind natured bear with a heart of gold and full of love to give so the moral of this bear story is beauty is only fur deep and you should not judge a bear before you have got to know him properly because it might just surprise you what might find !
Poor Odd Bodd He has certainly suffered a little in his life but probably all in the name of of love and he has therefore had a few loving stitches added by a kind nurse to the seam at the front of his tummy and at the back after another accident .
Odd Bodd also has a small red letter T maybe for Teddy painted on his back .
As previously mentioned Odd Bodd has been given decorative stitches around his nose and mouth area where we believe his mouth and nose stitches were both kissed away a long time ago!
We have given Odd Bodd a vintage enamel badge with the letter O on it and he has this proudly pinned now to his scarf and he has made himself a special Paper hat with his name on so he is indeed now a Very Special and Important Bear !!

BERTIE BEESKNEES- A CHILTERN BEAR C1930
They have even made him a honorary member of the Busy Bees club for all the honey collecting he has done for them over the years and he now wears his badge with pride on his dungarees whenever he is on bee duty with them!
Bertie Beesknees is a cute, cheerful looking 16" Chiltern bear dating to C1930.
This lovely little bear is stuffed with a mixture wood wool and kapok with wood wool to his head and a mixture to his body and limbs.
He has a pretty good coverage all over of blonde coloured mohair with perhaps just the lightest hint of thinning in places but nothing noticeable or detrimental really.
Bertie BeesKnees has retained his original mouth and nose stitching perfectly.
Bertie Beesknees has amber glass eyes with black pupils and we believe that possibly one of his eyes could be a later replacement but it is quite hard to tell them apart really as to which one it is!
This little bear has retained perfectly his original cotton cloth covered paw pads with no holes or damage and all his black claw stitches too!
He is a quiet little old bear too due to the fact that his press squeaker in his tummy is all pooped out but this doesn't bother him really because Berties cheerful face speaks volumes for him!
Bertie comes handsomely dressed in his hand knitted rust coloured dungarees and not forgetting wearing of course His beloved Busy Bees badge !
Perhaps you have a love for honey like Bertie Bees Knees too and even better a love for him also ?-now that really would be Bear Heaven for this little bear!

MERRYWEATHER - C1930/40 MERRYTHOUGHT BEAR
His face is just full of fun and beaming with happiness and joy so much so that you can't ever feel down when Merryweather is about!
Full of energy and always on the go Is our Merryweather one minute you will think he's quietly being busy doing something and the next time you look he's charging about doing handstands and standing on his head!
Merryweather measures a very cuddly 15" that is when he stands still for measuring !
He is stuffed softly with a kapok filling to his body and a mixture woodwool and kapok to his head.
This gorgeous looking Merrythought fellow has a great coverage all over of light golden mohair, with just the merest hint of a little thinning to his forehead just above his eyes which is not really noticeable at all.
He has a shaved muzzle and clear glass eyes which I believe are very likely to be later replacements for him but suit him admirably!
Merryweather is a very agile little bear , and all his joints move well for him but the they have to especially when he keeps doing handstands and standing on his head !!
This Wonderful looking Merrythought bear has retained all of his original brown felt paw pads and apart from a tiny stitch on one they are all in immaculate condition.
He has however lost his Merrythought label from his right foot pad and you can just see where it was once stitched when you look very closely.
Merryweather has also retained all of his original black claw stitches to all his paws and feet.
He comes very handsomely dressed with his red ruffle collar to you should you like to offer him a forever home!
Merryweather has been playing here with the silver 1930's lucky Merrythought wishbone lucky fob and you might like to treat him to this perhaps if you should like to adopt him!

LETTIE A CHILTERN TYPE OLD BEAR C1930
She has such a wonderful aura of serenity and gentleness whenever you look at her and she really is a bear that just melts your heart when you do !
Lettie has a look of the early Chiltern bears about her especially with her nose and mouth stitching style and spoon shaped paws.
This lovely old lady measures 23" and she is stuffed solidly with woodwool to her body, limbs and legs.
She has quite a long firm body and inside her tummy you can hear her non working tilt growler clunking around when she is tilted.
Lettie is quite a character really and has obviously been well loved and hugged throughout her bear years but she is a strong old girl!
She has a light dusting of light blonde mohair all over her really with general thinning and little patches of bareness in parts but all to be expected really when you are a Grand old lady bear of over eighty years!
Because she has endured rather a lot of love over the years which isn't surprising when you are as pretty as her all her joints tend to swing a bit and her head nods from side to side and forward and backward but this doesn't bother her in the slightest really and just adds to her sweet loveliness and charm!
She has kept some and lost some of her black claw stitches to her paws and foot pads.
Lettie's foot pads have been recovered in material at some time in her life but her paw pads are her original coverings.
She has had a couple of loving mummy neat and tiny repair stitches to both wrists near to where the material joins the mohair at the wrist, but this is quite hard to see and detect.
Being a lady of loveliness Lettie loves prettiness and lace and comes dressed in her antique white cotton and lace trimmed dress which like her has had a few neat repairs by her owners over the years but to her its perfect and wearing her favourite antique pearl necklace .Now all she needs now is a home!...........any takers for Lettie?

DAHLIA - A RARE PINK/BLUE CHILTERN CLOWN BEAR C1930
This pretty little powder pink and blue bodied Chiltern bear is referred to as a 'Clown bear' or 'Harlequin bear' because of the two split different colours of pastel pink and blue coloured mohair on the body.
Chiltern clown bears are seldom seen and found and so Little Dahlia is indeed a rare and precious little petal of a bear.
Dahlia measures 16" in height and has a pretty fair covering left of her pale blue and pink mohair on her body and a light covering of her remaining golden mohair on her head , arms and legs.
She has some small areas of losses of mohair which is really mostly noticeable on her paws and feet at the tips with general light thinning to the rest of her body.
She has retained all of her original three claw stitches to each paw and foot.
Dahlia has retained her original nose and mouth stitching well and just has one very small stray broken thread below her nose which is nothing detrimental .
Her amber glass eyes are later replacements but suit her well.
She is a quiet little bear these days because her press squeaker in her tummy nolonger works.
Dahlia is stuffed with wood wool throughout.
Dahlia is a five-way jointed little Chiltern bear, it is only her right arm that nolonger turns because it has been stitched at the top to her body but this could soon be remedied by a bear restorer and is not seen as a problem to her really .
She has retained all of her original cotton material covered paw and foot pads and just has a little wear hole in her right one but again this is not worrying or detrimental to her and the others show some age darkening and rubbing but nothing concerning.
Dahlia is a divinely gorgeous little Chiltern bear and somehow like the birds and butterflies we know that she will be truly loved ,adored and admired !

TRUFFLE - A BROWN CHILTERN BEAR
This lovely old chocolate brown coloured Chiltern bear dates to the 1930's and is a bear with his colour too that you don't see too often .
Truffle has a pretty good coverage all over really of his rich brown alpaca and wool coverage with naturally some general thinning in parts showing from all the love and hugs he would obviously of received once upon a time being such a handsome looking bear .
The thinning to his alpaca and wool coverage is mainly visible on the tip of both of his feet , just above his nose stitching on his muzzle area above his left eye and a wee bit to the tops of his legs but all in all nothing too noticeable really as you will see when you look at his photographs.
Truffle measures 18" tall and is stuffed firmly but softly with kapok to his body and limbs and wood -wool to his head.
He has also retained some of his original black claw stitches - three to his left foot, three to his left paw pad and two to his right paw pad.
He is a five-way jointed old bear and all his joints move .
Truffle has been given later replacement glass eyes but they seem to suit him perfectly.
This Gorgeous Old boy has kept his original black nose stitching too which has faded slightly over the years possibly from all those gentle kisses on his nose and he also has his original mouth stitching too !
Truffle really is a very lovely old Chocolate brown Chiltern bear and he is definitely a bear that you wont see too often!
