DIMMOCK - A VERY UNUSUAL BEAR C1920/1930
He loves nothing more than getting his paws all messed up in mud when he is planting and then weeding and watering all his Summer flower beds too!
Dimmock is a very Unusual bear dating to C1920/1930 and we believe him to be a British bear.
He measures 21" in height and has a fairly good coverage of blonde wavy mohair with general thinning and some small bald patches in parts.
The bald areas are mainly near to his arm joints and are a little hidden away from sight really and Dimmock's other barer patches are on the back of his head and a little around his hump area on his back.
He has a very distinctive pronounced shaved , muzzle and dark brown bat wing shaped and styled nose to give the impression of nostrils and sadly for Poor old Dimmock he has lost his mouth stitching along the way.
He is a five-way jointed Old bear and all his joints move and turn , its really just his right arm that is a little stiff ( this is is Gardening arm!!) with a touch of old bear rheumatics and near to this arm joint at the front he has been given a little small patch repair at some time in his bear life.
He has two stitches left on his left foot and four on his right and again originally he would have had five on his feet.
Dimmock is stuffed throughout with woodwool and has unusual leather/oilcloth pads .
Dimmocks muzzle area is a little saggy where some of the wood wool had shifted a little and he has a small patch of thinning/wear to the cotton material on the top of his muzzle but the wood wool is kept safe inside and there is no leakage as this is not a proper hole.
He has also had a couple of tiny inserts of material added at some time to his muzzle where he has had two little holes ,one is near to the left hand side of his nose stitching and the other to the right underneath the outer drop stitches.
Old Dimmock is now looking for somewhere to park his wheel barrow and bed down hopefully !
Dimmock comes dressed in his Vintage shirt and being a garden loving bear he will bring along with him one of his rose pins should you adopt him .
We think Dimmock is very Special characterful looking Old bear and we are pretty sure like us you will think so too!

DRUMMER - AN AMERICAN BEAR C1930
He dates to around 1930 and is a proper wounded old bear if ever there was!
His ears are slotted into his head in slits at the top which is very often a sign of American bears and rather unfortunately for poor Old Drummer both of his ears have been pulled off probably in a tug of love over him and rather amusingly stitched back on Oh so very differently that he now has odd sized looking ears but we think that this just adds to his quirky old bear charm don't you?
Drummer also has had some surgery near to the joint on his right arm and there are a few tell tale stitches around there , but his arm still turns a little even if it is a little stiff, however although I cannot see any stitches to his left arm this does not turn well probably due to some old bear rheumatics.
Both of Drummer paw pads have been recovered long ago for him in material and his foot pads too in brown felt.
Poor Old Drummer really is a brave old soldier bear and never grumbles about his aches and pains to all his joints resulting from his war wounds not even when he cannot turn his head because it had to been stitched back on again to his body bless him!
He has a fair coverage of bright golden coloured mohair with general losses and thinning in various parts of his body.
Remarkably Drummer has good eye sight still as he still has his original small rust coloured painted back glass eyes !
Drummer nose is stitched horizontally which again is like many of the American old bears.
He is rather a quiet Old bear these days because his press squeaker in his tummy nolonger works but that doesn't matter because Drummers cute expression on his face always speaks volumes for him!
Drummer comes to you should you take pity on him with his cavalry styled ruffle collar with little rusty bell pinned to it !

SWEET PEA - A C1930's CHILTERN BEAR
She is a sweet little flower of an old bear just like the flowers she was named after.
Sweet Pea measures a dainty 14" and is stuffed with woodwool.
She is a five-way jointed little bear and all her joints turn well.
Sweet Pea has been a very well loved little bear throughout her eighty years and has just a little light dusting of mohair left on her body.
Her clear glass eyes are later replacements and suit her perfectly. Her nose and mouth stitching are original to her.
This gorgeous little well loved character of a Chiltern bear has kept a few of black claw stitches to her her paws and feet while others have been lost in the passing of bear loves and hugs.
She comes dressed in her vintage peach / pink coloured dress and matching silk ribbon headband and we have given her a special little antique style necklet to wear .
Sweet Pea is a precious little Chiltern character bear that dearly needs a loving home and if perhaps there were some little bear friends of
a similar age for her to play with then Sweet Pea really would be overjoyed!

JULIETTE - AN ADORABLEY SWEET 1930's BEAR
Bless her , this old girl does look a little lost and tearful doesn't she ? that is because she has been on her own now for quite a few years in a dark and lonely cupboard and is not quite used to seeing the light of day again!
She measures 16" in height and has just a light coverage left of golden coloured mohair on her body these days with general thinning and losses in parts with the most losses being to the backs of her arms and the back of her head and in the centre of her tummy.
Juliette has her original clear glass eyes which have just small tiny traces of the original rust brown coloured paint behind left on them.
As to her maker and country of origin I have to say I am not definite here but I lean more towards her being more French than English and her vertical nose stitching with longer outer stitches and downward mouth stitching and clear glass eyes help to reassure this even more to me but I could be wrong !
Her paw pads are all covered in their original cotton cloth material and have perhaps been of an oil cloth type of material which has been rubbed away over the passing years.
Juliette is stuffed from head to paw firmly with wood wool and has no leakages or holes to worry about.
Her press squeaker in her tummy is all pooped out and nolonger works but then her adorable little face speaks volumes for her and then we might not fully understand her if she spoke all in French too!
Juliette comes dressed how she came to us in her original lilac cotton dress with hand embroidered little dog on the front of it and we have given her a little pink and lilac wooden heart to match her sweetness and ribbons and a silk rose pin brooch to give to her new owner as a very special Thankyou!

SOLO A BRIGHT GOLDEN MERRYTHOUGHT C1930's BEAR
Solo learnt to play the horn all by himself at a very young bear age by listening to jazz records on the family gramophone player and accompanying the music .
Solo is sunny by nature and sunny by colour too as he has the most wonderful coverage all over of the brightest golden coloured wavy long mohair that you could ever wish for !
He is 16" tall and is a five way jointed old bear and all his joints turn and move well for him.
Solo is softly stuffed with kapok throughout with just wood wool to his muzzle.
Solo has also his original dark amber and black glass eyes and has his original Merrythought printed label on his right foot pad .
His paw pads are all covered in their original felt, and show some signs of age darkening . The felt on his left foot pad has a couple of small areas where the felt is slightly surface damaged and one small spot on his right foot pad is the same.
Solo has retained his three black claws to both of his feet and four to his paw pads and has webbed claw stitching on his felt pads.
On his left paw pad the web claw stitching is slightly broken but again this is not really noticeable or detrimental to Solo.
Solo is looking for a band of bears to join because it can get a bit lonely playing on your own.
He comes wearing his special neck ruffle with jingling rusty bell

"OUR 'ERBERT !" A WONDERFUL OLD CHARACTER C1920/30 BEAR
He was a family loved old bear that belonged to a little boy in Yorkshire during the Second World War and he had already been well and truly loved hugged and repaired when he was lovingly passed him onto him to now love and help keep one another safe!
The little boys Granny kindly and cleverly made him a little jumper to go over his knitted blue shorts that teddy was already wearing , adapting it from one of the little boys own Old jumpers making it a bit smaller to fit and suit "Our 'Erbert" as he affectionately called him .
His Big sister came to the rescue too with a pair of her dolly's old knitted shoes to cover his feet up with so You see even in the War "Our 'Erbert" the bear was kitted out smartly !!
Granny was also quite good with a needle and cotton apparently ( well in a funny Old way !) and because "Our 'Erbert" had lost his eyes, nose and mouth features and looked a little blank faced she stitched a pair of eyes , nose and mouth details back onto teddy and gave him some old wooden boot buttons too for eyes hoping to give teddy some of his bear character back !
What can I say but Poor Old 'erbert has certainly endured a few operations in his life time , with ears stitched back on again , arms secured on at the shoulders with stitches and material patches , and all his paw pads recovered in scraps of material and chamois leather , but even after saying all that he is rather a remarkable Old , truly well loved Wartime period bear who is still going strong!!
If only "Our 'erbert " could speak to us now and share all his War time tales and adventures that he had with his little boy owner, now that would be Wonderful wouldn't it so all we can do is imagine the love , bond and comfort that they both gave to another during the War!!
" Our 'erbert " is stuffed throughout with wood wool, and has a light dusting left of short golden tufts of mohair.
His arms nolonger turn but his head and legs do!
Knowing that "Our 'erbert " was a little War time bear we have given him his very own replica WW2 evacuee tag , identity card and ration book for an under sixteen person and should you adopt him these will all come along with him and perhaps you might like to put his name on them too !

SOLDIER HERO ABEL - A POOR OLD BEAR C1920
He really has been in the Wars and he has lost an arm on the battlefield of a bears life along with other little battle scars his poor old body has received from various conflicts during his Great bear years.
However despite all his injuries Soldier Abel is still here to tell the tale of how he fought for his country and fellow bears !
Wonderful Soldier Abel dates to C1920 and measures 16" in height, he is stuffed entirely with wood wool .
Bless him where do we start? ....well apart from missing his left arm he was blinded by another attack and at some time many years ago he was given some stitches for his new eyes along with wooden boot buttons so he could see again!
He hasn't even a tuft of mohair left on his battled body to keep him warm so wears a War time vest from the Second World War which is stamped with the utility clothing stamps of that time!
His nose and mouth stitches have been kissed away and his paw and foot pads have all been recovered in material.
Soldier Abel has had two patches of surgery given to his head after one bad conflict , one at the back and one on the left side, which probably occurred at the same time as losing his left arm.
This Wonderful Old bear has seen many of his bears comrades fall over the years but he has tried to remain strong despite all of his injuries and would just love a caring home to live out his final bear years happily bless him!
Soldier Abel comes dressed in Wartime vest proudly decorated with a wartime rosette and paper flag day pin .
Who will love and look after Poor Old Abel now we wonder ?

MISS MARSHMELLOW - C1940/50 PINK BEAR
She has rather a bit of a 'Mouse' ish ' Sweet and Gentle looking face with a hint of timidness to her especially as her head tends to slump forward a little which all just adds to her endearing looks and charm don't you think?
We are not quite sure of Miss Marshmellow's country of birth but we feel she could very possibly be a little German girl bear.
She measures a slumpy 23" and is stuffed softly with kapok to her arms and legs . Her tummy is stuffed with a mixture of wood wool and kapok .
Her head is stuffed with woodwool.
This lovely Old bear has retained her original nose and mouth stitching . Her oval shaped nose is horizontally stitched.
Her left ear has been re-secured on with a couple of neat and tidy stitches for her at some time in her life by a loving caring mummy.
Being a little on the timid side Miss Marshmallow doesn't make much noise especially as her tilt growler in her tummy doesn't make a sound any more these days!
Her barer more noticeable patches are on her body at the front especially near to her neck area but this is quite hidden really because her head tends to slump forward due to the stuffing shifting at the top of the neck area and settling a little further down in her chest.
She also has some barer patches more visible at the back again near to to the neck area.
Miss Marshmellow's paw pads have all been very neatly and carefully recovered in creamy white coloured felt for her at some time in her life.
She has retained all five of her original black claw stitches to her feet and has four original claw claw stitches on one paw and and three on the other.
We are not sure if her amber and black glass eyes are original to her but they suit her perfectly anyway.
She is a five-way jointed bear and all her joints move well for her.
She comes dressed in pretty pink Vintage dress from the 1950's and to add that final little touch of loveliness to her we have given her a pretty floral ribbon headband !
MISS MARSHMELLOW IS BOUND TO TEMPT AND BREAK A FEW HEARTS WE THINK WITH HER LOVELINESS!!
