POSY-ROSE - A CHAD VALLEY GROWLING BEAR C1950
She is the most Loving ,kindest, sweetest bear you could ever wish to meet and she loves to show and share her love by simply doing what a bear does best which is to give one of her special loving hugs and pretty smiles !
You can probably tell by looking at Posy-Rose that she loves all things pretty in life too and pink is her absolute favourite colour !
She measures 23" in cuddlesome height and has the cheeriest , chubbiest little face with bright amber sparkling bright glass eyes.
Posy-Rose also growls but only in a sweet and happy way I must add especially when she gives you one of Loving hugs!
She has the most wonderful dense coverage of light blonde mohair you could ever dream for too making her again the most perfect cuddle of a bear !
She has retained her original nose and mouth stitching perfectly and her deep amber glass glass eyes too.
Her paw pads are all covered in their original rexine coating and again are in good condition with just some signs of age rubbing and slight wear but have no holes or splits in them .
As so often is the case She has lost her Chad Valley warrant label from her right foot pad but still has her tiny blue and white printed one stitched into her right side seam.
Posy-Rose is softly but firmly stuffed with a soft kapok like filling to her body and limbs and woodwool to her head.
Posy-Rose is hoping to find a very Loving home and owner that she can share her Hugs with too and comes with her pretty ruffle collar with pink bell on it and carrying in her paws her Special pottery 'HUG ME' heart so you will always know to give her a Hug back too !

ECCLES A FLAT FACE CHILTERN BEAR C1940/50
Some of the silly bears in the Tea room try to put him off when he is eating them and call them 'fly cakes' but Eccles just ignores them because nothing will ever stop Eccles enjoying these tasty little cakes.
Eccles is a cute little flat face Chiltern bear dating to C1940/50 he measures approximately 14" tall and he has a very good coverage all over of bright golden coloured mohair.
He is stuffed firmly with woodwool and has a working tilt growler in his tum and when he is tilted the sound is rather funny because its more of a deep short grunt than a growl!
Eccles is a five way jointed little Chiltern bear and all his joints turn well for him.
He has the typical Chiltern shield shaped stitched nose.
Eccles paw pads are all covered in their original rexine coated material and again are all in good order with no holes to any of them, they just have a little light surface rubbing which is all commensurate with his age and from being hugged and loved.
This little bear would love to find a home with some bear friends to play with and even better if they could go out with him for afternoon tea well that would really be the cherry on the cake !!
REF B839 SORRY I HAVE BEEN ADOPTED
GOLDENER - A GERMAN BEAR C1930/40
We believe Goldener is very probably a German 'Petz' bear produced at the Kiesewetter toy factory at Neustadt near Coburg.
Goldener loves all things golden especially the Autumn , honey , sunshine and the golden sands at the seaside!
He is a very straight backed and upright old bear measuring 23" in height.
Goldener has a fair coverage of wavy long wispy mohair with most of the thinning and barer patches being on his legs , back and partly hidden near to his arm joints.
Goldener's ears are set into slits at the top of his head and he has a bit of a protruding muzzle when he is viewed from the side.
He has retained his original amber and black glass eyes and original factory given nose and mouth stitching perfectly.
Goldener's pads are all covered in a light grey/beige coloured felt material and are generally in good condition , with just a couple of small tiny wear holes in them revealing a glimpse of the wood wool filling beneath but this is all held securely inside and with no leakage.
This wonderful old bear has also kept all three of his original black claw stitches to his paws and feet.
Goldener comes wearing his smart blue and red rufflette collar with little rusty bell.
Goldener has crossed the sea all the way from Germany to England and is now very much hoping to find a forever home in Blighty!

FLOSSIE-MAY A CHILTERN TYPE BEAR C1930/40
She has spent most of her Bear life been passed from pillow to pillow and now all she wants is quiet bear life and somewhere to call home especially now as she is in her elder bear years !
She dreams of a nice comfy chair by a window with a lovely view and what would be truly wonderful for her was if the view was a garden full of pretty flowers now that would be Bear Heaven for her and perhaps even some bear friends too because she might get a bit lonely sitting on her own!
Flossie-May is a lovely Chiltern type bear dating to C1930/40 she measures approximately 20" and is quite a chubby Old bear but dont tell her I said that its just that she is rather partial to honey cookies !
She is stuffed softly with kapok to her body and limbs making her a lovely soft cuddle.
She has retained perfectly her original nose and mouth stitching and her nose is stitched with vertical stitches with an outer upper longer stitch at each end.
She is a quiet Old bear these days because her press squeaker in her tummy no longer works but that's not a worry because her face speaks volumes for her!
She has a very good coverage all over of blonde coloured mohair with just a little bareness showing in the middle of her tummy where she has been hugged and squeezed but we can always forgive a bear for this cant we?
Flossie-May is a five-way jointed Old bear and all her joints turn agilely for her!
Her paw pads are all covered in their original cotton cloth covering and are all in very good order with no holes in them or repairs.
She has had a few neat and small stitches added to a couple of her seams over the years by a very kind loving mummy but nothing concerning or worrying and quite hard to detect really .
Flossie-May in all her prettiness and loveliness comes dressed to you in her sweet Vintage dress and with with her pink lace headband and little necklet.

THEODORE - A VERY HANDSOME AMERICAN BEAR C1920/30
He adores the Grander things in life , just like him really as he measures 24" in height.
Theodore loves horses, racing , and of course a bet or two and as he is rather a lucky old bear, he often comes back from a day at the races with more dollars than he went with !
Theodore really is the most handsome Wonderful looking American bear that we have had here at Once upon a time bears for a long time and he certainly carries a Very handsome presence about him!
He is quite a heavy Old bear , stuffed firmly with woodwool throughout.
Theodore is in Great condition for a bear of his age and stature and has the most absolutely gorgeous coverage all over of Golden marmalade coloured mohair which is long and thick with a little wave in it too!
He has the American characteristic almost triangualar shaped head with broad straight forehead and closely set small glass eyes which are original to him also.
Theodore has retained his original black horizontal stitched nose and mouth stitching perfectly.
His paw and foot pads all have their original felt covering to the pads and again are in jolly good condition really considering his age with no repairs or nasty holes in them.
Like many American Old bears he has limbs that are slightly different sizes . In Theodore's case it is His right arm and if you look and study him very closely from a side angle you can just notice that it is just a little shorter than his left arm but to be truthful its really not that noticeable and again this is a common characteristic with the early American bears!
Theodore used to growl in his younger days but his tilt growler in his tummy just clunks around inside now but who needs to growl when you are as handsome as Theodore!
We think Theodore is a true Winner of a American bear and with his good lucks he will no doubt be racing off past the winning post very soon Too!

LITTLE CEDRIC - A WILLIAM J TERRYS BEAR C1920
William J Terry's bear are quite hard to find and naturally little Cedric here is very close to our hearts whenever we look at his wonderful face and his heart tugging expression that just pleads with you to adopt and love him!
Little Cedric has been a little orphan bear for quite some time now and because of this he looks a little sad and lonely here but we are ever hopeful that we can change all of this for Little Cedric here at Once upon a time bears .
He measures just a little over 11" , and because he is not a very big bear and is a little on the meek side he tends to be a little nervous and gets easily worried when he is on his own , so what little Cedric really needs is a family of bears with some brothers and sisters to look after him and make him happy again !
Little Cedric has just a whisper of mohair left on his little bod , infact he has most of the sprinklings of mohair left on his little head really.
He has his original clear glass eyes and he has retained his original nose and mouth stitching, with just one thread broken in his nose .
Because he has lost most of his mohair you can see the pin wire/pin joints peeping through the cloth and where they have rusted and marked the material , this is quite normal and all commensurate with age and the manner in which he has been jointed originally.
His neck is jointed and turns and moves well for him.
Little Cedric has kept all of his five black claw stitches to his paw pads and feet and his pads are all covered in their original cotton cloth material and are all in good order. His little feet are card lined also.
Bless him he looks a hungry little bear , when he is undressed doesn't he?...........because he has lost his mohair you can clearly see the outline of his sticking out squeeze box squeaker due to some of the surrounding wood wool shifting over the years. This we think just adds to his endearing look don't you think?
Little Cedric comes dressed in his Vintage styled outfit and with a little bell around his neck too.
Perhaps you have a family of little bears that might mother little Cedric here .....now that really would be a Great start to the New year for Little Cedric here!

ARCHIBALD A C1920 CHILTERN CHARACTER BEAR
Archibald is a Chiltern bear dating to C1920 he measures approximately 17" and being a nice early Chiltern bear he is stuffed solidly with woodwool throughout .
He has but a light dusting and sprinkling left of blonde mohair here and there to keep his body warm these days being an Old bear fellow so doesnt like to be without his old blue knitted suit that he came to us wearing but please don't tell him we did carefully wash it for him!
Archibald lost an eye in the Great Bear Wars battle of love sadly so some years later he was given back his lost eye sight with another glass eye perhaps just a bit smaller reducing his vision a bit but at least he can see again!
Archibald is a five-way jointed old bear but due to his Old War wound to his left arm it doesn't turn but he is still able to get around and do things with just one working arm and sit down well!
Archibald used to growl in his younger bear days but these days he is rather a quiet old bear and all you can hear his growler clunking around in his tummy!
Archibald would love to find a loving home to retire to and should you be able to oblige he comes dressed in his knitted clothes and pinned proudly to his chest are some Old War time paper flags pins from a Flag day collection !

LITTLE APRICOT-POLLEN A CHILTERN BEAR
She is such a dainty delight of a little bear measuring just 12 1/2" on her tiptoes!
Apricot-Pollen was brought up in the 1930's and so rather naturally she loves the dances and music of that time . Her very favourite dance of all is the 'Charleston and she loves nothing more than putting her prettiest Apricot flapper dress on and her silk ribbon head band and dancing happily for all the bears, birds and butterflies.
This sweet and pretty faced little bear has been a well loved and hugged little bear over the years as you can tell and why not when you are a little Charleston charmer of a bear!
She has just a light dusting of blonde coloured mohair left on her body these days and most of it has been kissed away from her face and cheeks with nothing really on her tummy but she doesn't care because her pretty flapper dress covers up any modesty!
Apricot- Pollen has retained her original nose and mouth stitching quite perfectly and her small amber glass eyes too.
Her sweet and gentle nature is loved by all and Apricot-Pollen loves all the beauty and nature in her life too and is at her happiest in the garden dancing along with the fluttering butterflies and tending to the pretty flowers.
She is a five-way jointed little bear and all her joints move well for her still so her dancing days are not over yet for her although her head tends to nod forward a little as her neck joint is a little less tight as it was back in the 1930's but this doesn't bother her really and a kind nurse many Summers ago has given her a little holding stitch here which again Apricot-Pollen isn't troubled about and has forgotten all about it!
Her paw pads are all covered in their original cotton cloth material and have no holes in them and she has preserved well all her black claw stitches to each pad perfectly!
With Autumn fast approaching and cooler days and nights in the garden Little Apricot-Pollen would love to find a warm loving home for ever-more hugs , we tend to think that Apricot -Pollen wont have too much of a problem in finding that Special person and home do you agree?
