Tommy is a dear Old English bear dating to C1918/20 so he remembers well the First World War and being proud to join up and fight for his King and country.
Tommy joined up as soon as he could to the Royal Artillery and was a gunner and he proudly wears his Antique WW1 'Sweetheart' Artillery field gun 75 pin that he purchased in France as a souvenir to send back home to his mum on his chest along with an old medal ribbon.
He measures approximately 14" in height and is a five-way jointed old bear and all his joints turn and move .
Tommy is stuffed with a mixture of wood wool and kapok . wood wool to his head and a mixture of both to his body and limbs.
He has but a light covering left these days of his light golden mohair on his body bless him and there are just a few little tufts left on his head but this doesn't worry an Old Soldier like him!
His two paw pads have been patched up with old material and he has bandages on one arm and leg from small old war wounds.
His felt foot pads look a little shot and are revealing a little glimpse of the kapok stuffing beneath but this is all held firm and secure so there is no worry of leakage.
Tommy has perfect eyesight which is good news !!....he has his original clear glass and black eyes .
Most of his nose and mouth stitching has been kissed away since the Great War which is hardly surprising as he is a a true wartime Hero !
Draped Around Private Tommy's neck is a piece of a WW1 French flag from the country in which he was fighting at in the First World War that he has kept as a souvenir and a reminder of all his comrades.
Our very brave Old Private Tommy here is now looking for a loving and caring home to recuperate at now and not only brings himself should you be able to help him but will bring along a Poppy for Remembrance Day and some Special WW1 paper replica souvenirs and our very own Special 'CASUALTY OF WAR' tag for you to fill in for Tommy when he comes into your special care.

Albert spent many months in hospital recuperating from not only his injuries but he was suffering from shell shock too when he came back home. He was nursed and looked after by the British Red Cross and pinned to his bandaged head is a Vintage enamel British Red Cross pin a to show his gratitude to the British Red Cross for nursing him back to health.
Albert was in the Yorkshire Regiment and fought on the Western front. Sadly he was badly wounded there quite early on in a battle.
However he has his regiment badge pinned proudly to his chest with a old medal ribbon too.
He measures approximately 17" in height and although he cannot stand up now after having only one leg he can sit propped up quite comfortably .
Albert was obviously made of stronger stuff for an injured old Soldier and is stuffed firmly throughout with wood wool .
He has a very light dusting of tufts of light golden coloured mohair left on his body these days but this doesn't worry Albert as there are far worse things that can happen in Wartime!
His left arm was injured in the War and he received securing stitches to the shoulder by a kind Red cross nurse and doctor so it no longer turns and it has been patched up and bandaged too. Albert's left paw pad has a small hole in the original cotton material revealing a little glimpse of the wood wool stuffing beneath but this is not worrying as it is held firmly and securely inside with no fear of leakage.
Alberts right wrist is a little weak and limp and was sympathetically bandaged for support and his paw pad has been lovingly patched up in old material too.
Poor Old Private Albert's right foot pad has also been lovingly patched for him . He lost an eye in the War too and has been given a old wooden shoe button at some time in his life to help him see.
He has retained his original nose and mouth stitching but has a tiny wear hole at the side revealing a peep at the woodwool filling beneath but again this is not worrying as it is held firmly and securely inside.
Around Private Albert's neck is a piece of a WW1 French flag from the country in which he was fighting at in the First World War that he has kept as a souvenir and a reminder of all his fallen comrades.
This Very brave Old soldier here is now looking for a loving and caring home to recuperate at now and not only brings himself should you be able to help him but will bring along a Poppy for Remembrance Day and some Special WW1 paper replica souvenirs and our very own Special 'CASUALTY OF WAR' tag for you to fill in for Private Albert when he comes into your special care.
